Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Bhasha Sansthan organized a mass yoga session on the occasion of International Yoga Day at Saraswati Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Sector-Q, Aliganj, Lucknow. More than 500 students, teachers, and distinguished citizens enthusiastically participated in the programme, reaffirming the importance of yoga in promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Uttar Pradesh Bhasha Sansthan Director Sarvesh Kumar Singh welcomed the chief guest, BJP State General Secretary and Member of the Legislative Council Anoop Gupta, along with Government Advocate Vinod Kumar Singh, Sampark Pramukh Sachin Gupta, Accountant Dinesh Mishra, social worker Ramu Gupta, BJP City General Secretary Tinku Sonkar, School Chairman R.K. Garg, Manager Abhinav Bhargava, Treasurer K.R. Kanojia, Principal Santosh Kumar Singh, and BJP City Media In-charge Anurag Sahu by presenting them with traditional shawls, bouquets, and mementoes.
Addressing the gathering, MLC Anoop Gupta said that yoga and physical exercise are among the best means of maintaining both physical and mental well-being. He described yoga as not merely a form of exercise but a way of life that leads to a healthy, balanced, and happy existence. He urged everyone to make regular yoga practice a part of their daily routine.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Sarvesh Kumar Singh highlighted yoga as an invaluable legacy of India’s rich cultural heritage. He noted that yoga is not only a tool for physical fitness but also a foundation for the balanced development of the mind, intellect, and spirit. Encouraging students to adopt yoga as a daily habit, he said that a healthy youth population would play a crucial role in building a developed India.

The yoga session was conducted by Pravendra Kumar Singh and Priyanka Singh. Participants performed a variety of yogic postures, including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana, Vajrasana, Shalabhasana, Pawanmuktasana, Makarasana, Setubandhasana, and Shavasana. They also practised Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom, Bhramari, and meditation techniques aimed at enhancing physical fitness and mental wellness.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by School Manager Abhinav Bhargava, who expressed gratitude to all guests and participants for making the event a success. The proceedings were conducted by Bhavana Singh.
